Is it just me or did you feel extremely relieved once you submitted everything in? Im anxious but I have a question Ive heard different opinions of how you receive your notification is it through mail or do we get an email telling us to check our Check Status? Thanks

your status will be available online first. if your like me, you'll be pointlessly checking every day :P

Jackie12,

My son applied ED last year, and I have his file in front of me now.

(1) On December 2nd, he received an e-mail that said:

"Congratulations! The Office of Admission has approved your application to the University of Florida for the 2006 Summer B term. An official notification of admission and additional materials will be mailed to you soon. On behalf of the Office of Admission, welcome to the Florida Gator family!"

(2) On December 3rd he received an e-mail letter from the UF President Bernie Machen, congratulating him. And even though it was an e-mail, it was on UF stationery with his signature. It was dated December 2nd.

The original letter from Machen arrived a few days later in the mail, and it also was dated December 2nd. It's identical to the one I printed off from the e-mail he received on 12/3.

(3) He received an official "Notice of Admission" in the mail from the Office of Admission with a "Freshman Information" flyer. The letter was dated December 1st, and it was postmarked December 2nd.

(4) On December 6, he received an e-mail titled "Important Admission Information". It said 1) Pay your tuition deposit by Jan. 16th (gave a website); 2) Complete the Housing agreement that will made available in mid-December; 3) Plan to participate in Preview; 4) Provide your health history (gave a website).

The waiting is so HARD! And if UF doesn't change its notification routine, you'll at least know what to expect now, and when to expect it.

Best of luck to all of you,
g8trmom

Haha Ruo I laughed outloud we're on the same boat....and thank you so much gatormom for the information, although I think it made me even more nervous reading about all the different notifications. =)

haha, ima msg you with my AIM name. ask me any questions you have. ima try and get all of us CC'ers to get to know each other if we all go to the same school :P

I'm sorry Jackie12, I didn't mean to make things seem more confusing than they really were. There were only 4 or 5 e-mails and letters, and they came in one day at-a-time. It was fun and exciting, and not scary at all.

All the directions were very clear and easy to follow. And after that first week, my son didn't receive anything but a few pieces of housing information. We were given a few weeks to pay the tuition deposit, and another few weeks to submit the housing form with dorm preferences.

Best of luck to you,
g8trmom

Last year, applicants were getting emails or their status changed at various times during the day the decisions were due. Some "heard" at 6 pm...others at 8 pm... Just keep checking that day!

ill be refreshing every 60 seconds. in fact, ill probably stay home that day refreshin
