junior jam...
i'm assuming jr year will be pretty manageable, esp. with so many people studying abroad. i'm not intending on doing a thesis (god forbid) so I'm planning on taking it easy sr year and investing my time in inebriation.

One of my least favorite parts of senior year is that my sophomore friends are juniors and abroad for the full year (so I won't see them again unless I flunk out).

I didn't have a sophomore slump. Senior slump? Yup.

Wendy, there's an easy solution: stick around as a staff member ;)

To answer to your question, no I actually live in Paris in a French school and it was soooo hard for me to complete all the american requirements for application. We don't have GPA's, I didn't take any Sat prep classes, don't have ranking, and french system is a lott harder (its really hard to get B's, and only a few students out of hundreds get A's..)

I just asked on the online chat when ED letters go out, and they said they're sending them by the end of this week!

I'm in California, so if they send the letters on Friday, I'll probably get it by Tuesday, maybe Wednesday!

So much earlier than I expected! I'm so nervous/excited/scared!

(I just used so many exclamation marks!)

Menagerie, you're in the chat?! I'm there now =)
Ah, these Wellesley chats make me all warm and fuzzy, haha.

Anyway........BY THE END OF THIS WEEK?! Oh gosh. Well, much like you, I'll probably receive mine around Tuesday or Wednesday! (I'm in Florida..ah!)

asdhfasfhjjk!!!!!! Yeah.

Menagerie/Traxx -- Did they talk about how the decisions are going to be sent? Is it only snail mail? or will they email it OR is there someplace online that we can view this? Appreciate your response

Snail mail, unfortunately (or fortunately, depends how one looks at it).

Wellesley only allows one to view the status of their documents online, not decisions.

I believe the only one's who receive decisions online are transfer students and internationals.

Haha I do! I received an email a couple of days ago saying my answer would show up on friday at 5pm Standard Eastern Time
Meaning 11pm in Paris!!!!!! AAAHHHHHHH TWO DAYS!!
And of course, as now I have to brag on about my life to relax my shaking hands typing, I have "comme par hasard" two orals, and 3 tests on the same day, haha! I don't know how the HELL i'm going to concentrate and I'm probably not going to be able to sleep tomorrow night

My friends (as cute as they are) already organised the situation: we're going to go to our local cafe, and wait while talking about some ther stuff and pretending to care about other things. And in the crucial moment...Red Wine will be odered if I get rejected (to get drunk and forget), and champagne will be ordered if I do get in (to get drunk and party)
SO I basically forshadow how my friday night is going to be whatever my answer is.

Haha, don't worry, all Parisians are not drunkards!

Brian - You're so lucky you get to find out Friday! I don't know how I'll wait almost another week.

Good luck! Make sure to tell us your news!

Call me Samantha ;)
sure i'll let you know asap

Gosh, I'm nervous, too. I'm getting my results on Friday.

Good luck to you all! I'm not ed, but I still have goosebumps knowing that others are going to be receiving their Wellesley letters soon! lol.

Did anyone receive any news?

Thanks Menagerie your so sweet and.....YES I GOT IN!!!

I'M IN THIS BUBBLE OF HAPPINESS RIGHT NOW...there is just... no words to describe how I feel. FINALLY!
Good luck to all of you and thanks for the support

-French girl on her way to Boston

=) CONGRATULATIONS, SAMANTHA!
I'm so happy for you!!

Uh oh. Now I'm even more nervous.

Haha, thanks so much! Its so cute how you guys don't even know me but still.. I would probably be the same.
College Confidiential stressful applicants solidarity creating a bond? probably!
GOOD LUCK GOOD LUCK GOOD LUCK

I'll touch some wood for you (does this expression exist in english? touching some wood to bring good luck? just to be sure, not so sound like a complete idiot)

I'm also so much more nervous!

I don't know if I'm "outstanding" enough to get in!

I guess I'll know in three or four days.

I've never heard the expression of touching wood. I don't think we use it in English. I like it, though!

Oh my, someone on the Wellesley livejournal community has already been accepted.

Our letters are hanging out there in limbo, girls; in the hands of the great post office workers of the U.S of A.

I'm dying!

Sam, I believe you meant "knock on wood". In english we knock on it, not simply touch it, lol.

I understood because in Italian it's "toccare ferro" and in Spanish it is "tocar madera", lol. These Romance languages, gosh, gotta love 'em =)

I hope we all get in!!
