ED1 question

Question for parents of kids who applied ED - what are you doing to help your kids from climbing the walls over the next week?

Craziness seems to have increased, as ED decisions from other schools are starting to roll in (Wash U came out yesterday).

Don’t laugh–I had my son work on other college applications–I told him that not to do so would “jinx” his AU ED application! Sort of–if you do all this extra work, of course it will not be necessary because you will get in–and if you get over confident, and don’t do all those other applications, you will end up wishing you had gotten them done, and it will make your already sad winter break even worse! (luckily, those additional applications never needed to be sent for S1 or S3–and S2 did not apply ED anywhere, because he had no true preference at application time).

I also had the assistance of his club soccer coach–players reported back to the club team as their high school teams fell out of the state tournament. My son’s high school team made it to the final 8–so, as he was a bit “late” in getting back to his club team he had a lot of make-up work/conditioning to do, as his club team was several echelons more competitive than his high school team …The coach kept him too tired and busy to care.

And then of course there was his insane class load. The AP teachers were used to the seniors stressing while waiting for college results, and they upped the workload from overly heavy to completely ridiculous to keep the kids distracted–or at least that is what they claimed.
