EDII Thread

The application packet says you will hear within a month of the application deadline, so that may have been where you got it. That sounds like "by February 1". So much confusion. I wish they would state a specific date. But anyhow, it could be any day now! I really hope it's today!!!!! Our futures could be riding around in a mail truck right now...

i got my letter today...
deferred :/
but don't think i'll give up without a fight!
it was probably due to my class rank (which is bad b/c of math/gym grades...i hate math and i always got stuck with the worst gym teacher who later moved to africa (and she couldnt do this before because...?))

P.S. I figured this out from the date xterraskier (who goes to my school) got his EDI letter. We both got our letters in the same amount of time (2 days from mailing date) if you figure they sent out the letters thursday...that mean EVERYONE should be hearing today or monday!

why, what was your class rank? if you don't mind me asking..

yeah..it sucks..it was like 29/189 or something close to that...but my transcript shows I perform stronger in some areas than others and this is why i rank so low b/c the classes balance it out to somewhere in the middle (ex. i get a 98% in 9th grade english and an 86% in algebra II and it averages out to a 92%...). I see all these top 10% people and feel just a little underachieving

ahh. I am in a similar situation, even in regard to english vs. math.

kate...sorry to hear the news...but as you said, dont give up without a fight!! did anyone else find out?

so....
wasn't ANYONE accepted? If you were accepted/deferred please post...

Hey EDII kids.. I'm Liz, and I just want to plug the Vassar '09 Yahoo group again... it's the best way to meet other '09ers, and we're trying to get as many people from the class involved in it as possible! Here's the link:

<a href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vassar09/%5B/url%5D">http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vassar09/</a></p>

We have regular chats and it's just a great support group for those of you heading off to Vassar alone (like me)!

I was accepted ED II...

Sat 2: 740, 650, 590
GPA: 3.75 unweighted FULL IB PROGRAM
captain of tennis team and number 1 singles
directed one act plays, actor
heavily involved with the art program at my skool + art classes
Very strong interview, essays, and recs
I think everyone who posted for regular decision will get in, class rank matters less than you think I was probably top 25% and SAT scores just need to be over 1300. Most people posting on this place need to calm down...1450 and 4.0, it is very unlikely you wont get in to vassar, good lcuk to everyone.
