<p>if one wanted to become an editor, what would be ideal majors to facilitate one's ambition...yeah. so i want to be an editor (maybe) and don't know what would be a good major. i wish "editing" was a major. are there any colleges that um, i guess, have good programs for this type of thing?</p>

<p>Journalism or technical writing? Journalism will obvioulsy direct you more towards the news sector. If you want to edit books or the likes, technical writing may be a better fit.</p>
<p>i wouldn't want to major in journalism unless it's really the only major that really fits. and i don't want to go to a communications-heavy school either, so journalism probably is not very good. technical writing seems like it'd be a pretty rare major. is it?</p>
