Education Certificate?

Hey everyone! I was accepted regular decision and I am extremely happy! I want to pursue a career in elementary education and was accepted into the Boston University School of Education along with Conn. I absolutely love conn and am most likely going to be attending but i was wondering if anyone could tell me how good the education program is? Will I miss out on things that I would experience in an elementary ed program at another school?

I don’t think so. It’s been awhile, but the whole reason I put Conn on my shortlist was because I knew someone who became an English teacher through their Education center, and she was doing National Novel Writing month with me. She always said the certificate was practically a second major (as secondary. I think elementary is a specific major. “Education” is listed as a major and certificate), and fun- Conn students work at the nearby schools as part of their experience. I don’t know that you’d miss out at all.

That said, you should think about admitted student days if you can go- they go over this stuff.

Thanks yurtle your post is very reassuring. I have definitely heard great things about the program prior to this and your post reinforced this information! Much appreciated! i will definitely be at admitted students day as well.

Cool, maybe I’ll see you there.
