<p>Elementary Education is very selective and the program attracts some of the top future teachers around. You can also do an Honors Degree through the El. Ed. program.</p>
<p>JJ, my suggestion is that you wade through the thread called "Any questions?" My daughter is graduating in three weeks (yippee!!!!) with a degree in ETE, and I've replied to several questions about the ETE program (as well as other stuff), as have other people, throughout that thread. I know the thread is several pages long, but it's full of all kinds of information and answers to questions you may not even have realized you had.</p>

I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you say that ECE is not within the Ed. dept. According to my reading of the UD website and based on everything I've ever seen or heard on campus, Early Childhood Development and Education is definitely part of CHEP. What gives you the idea that it's somewhere else? <p>I am terribly sorry for posting a question then disappearing from the board. I have been traveling a lot and my free "Internet time" has been limited.</p>
<p>The program my daughter will be attending is "Early Childhood Development and Education" (ECDE) which is in the Department of Individual & Family Studies (<a href="http://www.udel.edu/ifst/undergrad/index.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.udel.edu/ifst/undergrad/index.html</a>.) There is an ETE program in the School of Education. (<a href="http://www.udel.edu/educ/undergraduate/concentrations.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.udel.edu/educ/undergraduate/concentrations.html</a>) Both of them are within CHEP but the curriculum is different.</p>
