Eecs 314

How is EECS 314? I heard it's a lot of work. This is for an IOE major. Any survival tips? I heard it's not hard but it's tedious. How long did you spend on it and how is it during the spring term? in general, are all of the spring term eecs classes like eecs 280 extremely tough and rigorous? Thanks.

EECS 314 is not very difficult. Ganago posts everything online, including his lecture notes. I never really went to lecture or the discussions since the GSI I had wasn’t very helpful, and still finished with an A. He gives a ton of extra credit too so take advantage of those.

Very easy class. The HW and labs can take awhile but aren’t particularly difficult.

I never went to lectures and used all of his online resources for help. His office horurs were very helpful and the GSIs were good too.

There were three exams. First two were 15 questions, allulriple choice, and each were 15% of your grade. The final was 22 MC and 22%. The exam questions are straight out of his practice test with the numbers changed. The order was even the same. You are allows 1, then 2, then 3 full sheets of paper as cheat sheets too. Mine were just the solutions to the practice exams.

HW is like 35% of your grade and labs are the rest. HW is do on Wednesday but you get 15% extra credit if you turn it in Monday (do that). He also gave us a couple percentage points on our final grade for filling out Hus surveys about the class all year.

My roommate took it the semester after me and I think he changed out so the exams are even a smaller part of your grade

I got a 10/15 on the first and an 11/15 on the second (dumb mistakes) and still got an A+ for my final grade (22/22 on the final).

The professor is a really nice guy and the class is very easy. As long as you aren’t a lazy SOB there is no reason why you shouldn’t get at least an A

surprisingly, though, the class average ended up around B usually.
