UC chief lays out 'draconian' budget cut plan

Alright. so now i am officially terrified.

Would it mean that acceptance rates will go down big time?

Would they eliminate TAG program (worst case scenario)?

What is goin to happen to us Fall 10 transfer students?

What do you think?

But no worries, we all can go to Tijuana Fisherman College instead of UC. very high acceptance rate + a lot of fishing

For the foreseeable future, I think you CCC transfers do not need to worry too much. They like CCC transfers because you save yourself and the state some money, and TAG will be the last program to go.

It is mostly going to hurt, imo, freshmen applicants. It already is affecting freshman applicants by the sights of acceptance percents dropping dramatically. If they are cutting programs and laying off professors, they therefore have less room for students, and freshmen admits are the majority of the campus.

UCs will almost certainly drop in rankings as well, since they need state funds as well as private donations to keep going, both of which are usually lower than their competition (especially privates).

haha, no they do not save the state any money. Students at CCC’s cost the taxpayer far more than those at a UC.

12k per student for UC’s a year is paid by the state.

well we’ll find out next year

No, I don’t believe it will have an impact on transfer students. However, as mentioned above, it will probably greatly impact freshmen applicants. It is hard for them to be accepted as it is.

“haha, no they do not save the state any money. Students at CCC’s cost the taxpayer far more than those at a UC.”

Link please. From what I know, UCs cost the state way, way more than California Community Colleges to house students.

what a gay time to be transfering.
