What do I do if EGR 10 is full and I forgot to sign up for it?

If you really, really want to go, I'm sure you could just sit in on lectures and no one would notice, it's a pretty big class

so it's no big deal if I know I want to do BME and I'm not in EGR 10?

well if you know what you want to do, then yes, I'd say EGR 10 is probably a waste of time. It's really for those undecided.

Okay...so say I know that I want to do BME, and am not interested in the other engineering majors, but don't exactly know what I can do with a BME degree...should I take EGR 10, or just do some research on my own?

whoa...same time as amused...

I think you can pretty much just go to the BME lectures then, no need to sign up for the class. Ask someone in it when the BME lectures are

Dr. Laursen is generally open to people just popping in on the lectures of interest for folks that don't have the time to take the whole course or who are pretty sure about what they want to do but maybe not the specifics.

is there outside of class work involved if we do sign up for the class? I've got plenty on my plate as far as tough classes go but I figured Egr10 was just a class I could go to to hear some interesting lectures...otherwise I'll probably consider dropping the class and just getting permission to attend lectures that will be relevant for me if that's what you guys are recommending

As far as I know, attendance is it for EGR 10. But - if you take it, you definitely have to be there or face the consequences.

aka get a big F on your transcript

well, yeah. I mean, we can't all be you.

KIDDING!

hm... (what is there to say to that?)

biomed6, there is no outside work for the class, and I doubt you have to get permission, the lecture hall is plenty big. Of course, if you want to, you can.
