I was curious about a couple of issues in these dorms. Basically, I'm trying to prepare myself for move in. It's a big job. So, I'm wondering...

1) Do these dorms actually have closet doors? And will they have them this coming year? When we toured the sample room in Craige at CTOPS, there were no closet doors -- they had been removed. I'm hoping that was just for the summer. Anybody know?

2) Where are the electrical outlets located and how many are there? I understand the importance of power strips. But there are so many things to charge, and I'm hoping they don't all have to be confined to one location near an outlet. Cell phone, camera, iPod, hair dryer, straightener, etc. Ahh!

3) Do most people put up shower curtains in the bathroom to hide the toilet? oh and I'm loving the toilet/urinal combination, I must say. While we're in the bathroom, what about bath rugs? Should I wait until I get there so I can meet my suite mates and work these things out?

I think that wraps up my specific questions, but any other advice on living in these south campus classics would also be appreciated. :)

I know that there is a limitation of electrical power for each room. Ask your RA when you get there.
I would strongly recommend for you to discuss these issues with your suitemates. Ask each of them to chip in some few dollars for not just bath rugs, but for any problem that may arise that you guys may have to fix.
:)

a.) don't worry about the electricity or how much power you're using in accordance with the "limits"--no one will ever check you on that..bring a few surge protectors and power strips and you'll be totally fine. you'll be able to plug in whatever you want.
b.) they replaced the closet doors in a lot of the south campus dorms this summer because they were pieces of crap. i know this because my friend worked on campus all summer doing repair work like that (he texted me complaining that i hadn't de-lofted my ehaus bed haha). so the reason there were no closet doors in craige was because they were in the middle of replacement.
c.) you can't keep anything in the bathrooms except hand soap because the pink soap they give you is icky.

Unfortunately, you can't put anything in the bathroom except better hand soap (like Leah said). Within a few hours of moving in last year, my suitemates had moved three rugs, another trashcan, and shelves into the bathroom. Needless to say, the cleaning lady was not pleased. Also- DO NOT throw food away in the bathroom. Someone in my suite chucked some cookie or something in there one time, and our trashcan disappeared forever...

oh haha. It really depends on who your cleaning person (mine was a guy) is! By the end of the year, there was an accumulation of shower totes/clothes/makeup/hair stuff in the bathroom from my roommate and I combined. We even cleaned a large storage tote and left it in the bathroom for weeks! Needless to say, our 3 suitemates probably weren't happy, but we are lazy people who just preferred to leave it there! Moral of the story: really depends on who your cleaning person is.
