Colonnades Double Room TV?

If anyone is familiar with a Colonnade double room - do you have any advice what my S may need (other than typical supplies). Is there a tv in the "lounge/common room" (not sure what it's called), or do kids typically bring one for their dorm? Is there a microwave in lounge? Thanks.

Hi - S2 lived in a double in Colonnades last year and it was very nice. Each room has a sink. They share a bathroom (shower and toilet) with the adjoining room.

Each floor has a lounge with a large tv and a kitchen. There was a microwave. My son and his roommate did not bring a tv. They tended to watch sports in the lounge and anything else on their laptops.

The bed heights are adjustable. They put them up to about waist/shoulder level (bring tools - hammer or mallet) and then they were able to put the dressers under the beds and stored bins under there as well. The rooms are an adequate size, but two beds and two desks take up space, so putting the dressers and any other loose pieces under the beds helped.

They each had a closet - not huge, but adequate.

Thanks Rockvillemom - very helpful!

My D was in colonnades last year. Rooms are spacious. She and her roommate rented the mico-fridge combination. They found that even if they labeled their food in the common fridge someone always ate it. They both lofted their beds to nearly the ceiling leaving tons of room underneath for a futon, TV Desk with hutch and dresser underneath the beds.

Agree on the fridge - son’s rooommate brought a small one and it was nice for beverages.

If the beds were lofted that high - did they get guardrails? My son and his roommate did not do so - as the beds were halfway up - but I would think that if you lofted them all the way up - guardrails would be wise.

Yes, bedrails are available in the lobby during move in for free. Just grab one. Both girls were extremely happy with their lofted beds and felt totally safe with their bedrails. The lofting also keeps visitors from “sitting on their beds” all the time and just keeps everything neater and cleaner. Another plus…if you don’t have time to make the bed no one notices that high up!
