Sooo i might be obsessed but who isnt?!...anyways does USMA allow cadets to go marine? Im assuming yes but Im not sure.

Yeah, it's called "Plebe Drowning"

:)

haha well count me in then

didn't they deny all interservice transfer requests?

I remember reading that the people who DID branch interservice got their requests denied by the army and the super went to go try to get the army to change its mind.

If USMA doesn't let graduates go into different services after the academy then what about vise versa? Would the other acadamies (USNA, USAFA) let one go army after graduation?

Also, if I were to be appointed to USAFA but not USMA and I reapplied to USMA the next year and was then accepted would I easily be able to trasfer over from USAFA to USMA? I'm dead set on being an Army Officer, so I'm trying to find other ways I can become one if I'm not appointed to USMA next year.

Tn48...have you checked out USMMA??? You can go active Army there.:)

From what I heard, USMA is no longer allowing Interservice Transfers at all. Then again, that could change

lol USMMA???......I'm good :) My top choices are 1.) USMA 2.)USAFA 3.)USNA . Its close between USAFA and USNA for second, I would like to be in a ground oriented force, so if I went USNA I would do marines but not sure about the naval college life. I would like AF college experience but would not want to be in AF after college, especially since only a slim few actually even get to fly in the AF.

Not to mention the Army has more planes than the AF, and more boats than the Navy :) but I don't want to be on either.

Don't know about the classes of 2007 and beyond, but the Class of 2006 branching report shows 9 interservice transfers - 6 men and 3 women. I know that at least one of the transfers was to the Air Force since I personally know the cadet. He wants the transfer so that he can fly jets.

I know, but they just cancelled them recently. Like, within the last 3 weeks.

"Not to mention the Army has more planes than the AF"

huh?

and dont dismiss usmma so quickly.

I will dismiss USMMA, and fast.

rubbing shoulders with the future mids that will attend USMMA has really, really, really, turned me off to the place.

I mean......

"Army has more planes than AF", Yes its true you can look at any statistics tables with all the stats branch by branch and it shows that Army has more planes than AF and more boats than Navy. Now they may not be combat planes or boats, but they say if you want to fly your better off going into Army. I'll see if I can find some links to back this up, I originally got the info out of a couple of books of mine. One is:

"How To Make War: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Warfare in the 21st Century" by James F. Dunnigan

best military book I have ever come across, I highly recommend it to anyone. Check it out at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/006009012X/sr=8-1/qid=1139884706/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-6946318-8292747?%5Fencoding=UTF8

I don't intend to dismiss USMMA, to me all the academies are just as prestigious as the other, USMMA just isn't my cup of tea.

nooooooo this ruins alooootttt ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

But I want to be selfish and get marines and WP also..... :(

"rubbing shoulders with the future mids that will attend USMMA"

huh?

and tn48th, are you counting helicopters as planes?
