So I'm an incoming freshman and when filling out my housing application I put the Northwest neighborhood as my top choice. Unfortunately, i got assigned to Eigenmann hall in central. Im a direct admit to kelley but I love to go out and party, which is why i was hoping for Northwest. What's the social scene like in Eigenmann? Am I screwed? I also definitely plan on joining greek life.

I have no idea why so many people are upset about their housing, it’s no big deal (although I did get my first choice).

1) Realize that Northwest is a very popular dorm and chances of you getting it were slim anyway unless you signed up for an LLC.
2) Eigenmann is not that bad. Each dorm has parties and you will be able to find some.

my son had the same thing happen with the dorm choices- he signed up for premium housing and in the fine print (we missed that) it says if northwest isn’t available eigenmann is the default. he ended up loving it there. everything is in the building so u don’t have to go out in inclement weather (came in very handy with the winter last year). his room was huge, it’s basically two rooms made into one. they had the beds and desks etc on one side and that left room on the other side for a futon, recliner, 42in tv, surround sound, a fridge and a microwave. it’s also very close to kelley and the library

Same requests as Hoosier18. My son did not receive any of his dorm choices. Assigned Eigenmann. Almost $2000.00 more than McNutt, Brisco and other popular Freshmen dorms. Eigenmann only has community baths and is a longer distance to classes. What makes Eigenmann so expensive? It is obviously older with fewer amenities.
