If I pursue and I’m accepted into a major within the Cockrell School of Engineering, will I be able to take electives involving the mid-high level coursework of other engineering majors assuming that I have plenty of available space within my schedule?
Why do you want to? As an employer, I would prefer students who had taken more electives in their OWN major. For example, a civil engineering student would be smart to take more design classes (wood, advanced concrete, prestressed concrete, etc.). There is already more than enough to study in your own field.
Oh okay, I understand what you’re saying. I was toying with the idea because I am considering an undergraduate degree in MechE but then hopefully continue on to graduate school to study BMedE; and maybe some of these extra classes could provide insight or exposure to another discipline.
