Elementary French Elective?

I'm interested in learning the French language, but I don't really have experience with learning new languages before. How difficult would it be to achieve a 3.8+ GPA relative to courses like Psychology, Neural Science, or English.

You could pass/fail Elementary French I. You won’t see your grade and the grade won’t appear on your transcript, only “pass” will appear. It also will not be calculated into your GPA. This is fine for electives, but if you need the language to count towards your degree, pass/fail is not an option.

That sounds great. Will I have the option of experiencing the course first before I decide if I want it to be a drop/pass or normal class?

Yeah, you generally get something like three weeks to a month before the pass/fail deadline. MAKE SURE TO KEEP TRACK OF DEADLINES. They are VERY strict about it. Look at your school’s individual policies and clear the idea with your advisor. My friend pass/failed a language class, Japanese, and he really enjoyed it!
