Pass/Fail Studying Abroad

Hi,

I have a pretty specific question. I'm taking a 2 credit (half a regular course) at NYU in Paris, called French Through Song. I'm thinking about taking it Pass/Fail because the course is mixed with students with very little French language experience (me) and others who are basically fluent. If the professor grades on a curve there is no way I will get a grade that will not pull down my GPA. I'm worried that taking a Pass/Fail grade for a course will hurt my chances of getting into law school. I also took Elementary German pass/fail when I did a summer program in Berlin (yes, I'm horrible at foreign languages...). Other than that course, I have a 3.78 GPA for all my other courses.

I know its probably hard to give advice on this topic, but I would hate to get a bad grade in a course that I'm just taking for fun...

Law schools generally recommend against a lot of pass/fail courses but are not concerned about a few, particularly when the course is either from a summer or other program abroad.

Okay thanks for your input!
