I believe you do have elevators in some buildings. But I was on the third floor of a building with no elevator, and I still managed to get a minifridge up the stairs. And mine was larger than most, too.

You get to leave your stuff in the dorms over break.

I managed to get a minifridge of similar size up and down from the third floor at a College 10 building. The thing is 10 years old so it’s heavier than some of the newer models. But it was more awkward than anything.

You’ll want at least one other person helping you. Bribe with cookies if you have to (I chose soda to bribe with myself). I’m fairly sure it was the female status I have, but I found no shortage of people willing to help me at College 10 over the summer.

Tilt the fridge on its side and carry it up horizontally. You will need to let it sit for a bit before you plug it in using this method, but it is a better way to distribute the weight to both people. I would also recommend walking up the stairs sideways with it. I tried going up backwards, but I only ended up hurting my lower back from how much I had to bend over to still hold up my end of the fridge. Have a trolley waiting for you at the top of the stairs so that you don’t have to carry the fridge the rest of the way to your room.

Good luck :). You’ll appreciate the minifridge all that much more if you do have a building with no elevator!

if youre in residenca hall 2(ghandi), theres an elevator. i lived there last year. it shouldnt be that bad carrying it up. you get help from Orientation Leaders too if you need it.
