I just got an email from American about their ‘Champions of Excellence’ program for Model UN, Mock Trial, Debate, and Math. In the email, it said it was for students currently* involved* in these activities, but on the website it said it was for students interested in the activities. I’m planning on joining Model UN in college if it’s offered, but I haven’t participated in high school since my school doesn’t offer it. So I’m a little confused, am I eligible for the scholarship or is it just for those who are already involved?

I would definitely contact admissions and ask. I agree that it seems slightly confusing, but on the website the first thing it says is, “You are a well-rounded student who is not only academically focused, but who is also engaged in pursuits outside the classroom”, and then “American University wants to foster your continued participation…”, which I think both imply current participation. Whether or not that is actually the case, or if there are exceptions, are questions that admissions could answer. You might also recommend they alter the wording on their website to increase clarity. :)
