Hi everyone! I was just wondering if anyone had the estimate Eligibility Indexs for CSUs fall 2016?? I know San Jose state has posted theirs but I was wondering about a couple other ones (Pomona, Fullerton etc)
Also does being above the eligibility index guarantee admission or is it just to be considered?
Thank you so much!
SJSU is the only CSU that publishes the EI thresholds each year. For the rest of the CSU’s, the EI’s are based on posted stats of accepted students and gathering data over several years, so more of an estimate then fact like SJSU’s numbers. There is no guarantee that the EI’s will be the same each year since it is dependent upon the number of spots available and the competitiveness of the applicant pool. Take CS for example: last year’s EI for SJSU was 4300 for the SAT and 1021 for ACT. For 2014, the EI was 4550 SAT/1080 ACT.
CSULB does state that an EI of 3900 is needed for STEM majors. SDSU has an unpublished EI threshold of around 4100 for competitive majors such as STEM and Business. SDSU direct admit nursing majors need to be around 4300 or higher. An EI for CSU Fullerton should be around 3800+. Chico State around 3700+ along with Cal Poly Pomona however, impacted majors: Engineering/Architecture/CS/Animal Science are probably higher.
I like to use SJSU’s numbers as a guideline and for the more competitive CSU’s (CSUF/CSULB/CPP/SDSU) expect their thresholds to be slightly higher than SJSU’s except for maybe CS.
