Hi,
I’ve seen some people post links to the historic eligibility index for certain CSU campuses, by major, such as this one:
http://info.sjsu.edu/web-dbgen/narr/admission/rec-10079.12651.html
Is there a site where this information is posted for all campuses, so that I can compare them for my son’s major, Computer Science? If not, if you could post the similar links for other UC and CSU campuses, it would be greatly appreciated as we attempt to create the list of potential colleges to consider. Thank you!
Only SJSU appears to be that transparent with historical CSU EI thresholds, although non impacted CSUs with non impacted CS majors admit at the baseline.
UCs use a different admissions system with a comprehensive review including essays and such.
As ucbalumuns stated, SJSU is on the only CSU that publishes their EI for all majors. For some of the rest of the schools, the EI threshold has evolved over the years by looking at Stats for in-coming Freshman.
SDSU is 4100 or higher for the more competitive majors such as Engineering/STEM/Business and maybe close to 4400 for Nursing.
CSULB’s website states that for STEM majors, an EI of 3900 or higher is required.
Chico State’s website has an EI of 3700+ for some majors.
I would use SJSU’s EI for CS as a good threshold for most of the competitive Cal States since their CS program is one of the best. SLO uses an MCA score and with about a 10% acceptance rate, CS is very competitive and hard to predict.
Here is an old thread concerning EI’s for Cal states. Many of the numbers are higher than what was posted a few years ago: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/california-colleges/1421917-csu-eligibilty-index-by-campus.html
