Hi All! Congratulations to your S!! @Griffilus
-Training this summer…not really anything I’d recommend except to be ready for long days and learning how to take care of yourself to handle these! Grab a copy of the play they announce for the Fall so you are familiar with it and be prepared with a monologue.
-I decided to not do the performing arts building and I was randomly assigned a dance major as a roommate. We were in a suite-style with non-PA majors and I loved making friends outside the department too. With that said…it was a blessing to be a with another perf arts roommate because we understood late rehearsal nights, early dance classes and time for quiet.
-I did work study too and made it all work! I was a part of the Fellows program, had a minor and worked in an student life office and then as a tour guide. And I studied abroad!! There were definitely parts of the department I was a bit less involved in because of a packed schedule but I love taking advantage of everything college had to offer and was encouraged by the department to do so. We’re here to be artists and getting outside of the perf arts “bubble” helped broaden my artistic toolbox!
Hope this helps!
