@collegeseeker223 I feel your pain. I know the acceptance rate is high for ED but I can’t help but worry. If you don’t mind me asking what’s your stats? (GPA and test scores)

@Lyvie999 @collegeseeker223 I dont think it is possible for the reps to call each individual applicant. Scott Christopherson (NY/NJ rep) mentioned when called that it was because he had met me in person. I dont know if you met with him but that might be one determinant they use. I think they also try to call scholarship recipients.

@Lyvie999 My school doesn’t tell us our GPA but I have the equivalent of mostly As and a couple Bs with a course load known to be difficult.
1930 SAT: 500 math, 690 reading, 740 writing.
My extracurriculars are very strong, as were my recs (I think), and I was happy with my essay.

@dmc1418 Where did Scott meet you? Did you visit campus? I met him once when he came to my school and I also had a brief email correspondence with him, but I wasn’t able to visit campus.

Collegeseeker223, hang in there, my SAT’s were exactly the same as yours and I’ve been accepted. I think you’ll be fine. I still do believe that something that factors into whether you get a call or not is demonstrated interest. But don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll all be fine! Good luck

@collegeseeker223 haha there’s no way you’re not getting in! Hopefully he just didn’t have time to call us both. And thank you @dmc1418 that makes me feel a lot better! Happy thanksgiving!!!

@lsmith72 Thank you!!! I’ll be waiting anxiously until midnight for the decision. Congrats on being accepted and I hope to see you on campus next year!

@Lyvie999 Hhahaha I hope I’ll get in! I’m sure they can’t call everyone, so fingers crossed! Good luck and hopefully we’ll both have one more thing to be grateful for at midnight! Happy thanksgiving :)

frogshollow - no - I have no official link to Elon. I am a parent of an Elon studnt who was accepted ED two years ago and I have worked in the college counseling field - so I have vicariously experienced the college admissions process a few hundred times!

@collegeseeker223 I met him when he visited my high school and at “An Evening with Elon” in Connecticut this fall. Regardless, I wouldnt worry, they cant call everyone in the span of a day and with Thanksgiving I’m guessing they were limited in the amount of time they had to call.

My D falls squarely in the middle of the stats posted here. She also met with her rep, emailed, visited the campus and did everything else to show interest. And yet, no call and we know our rep did make calls yesterday. It’s very upsetting, obviously she is not one of her reps favorites. Not a happy thanksgiving day for us.

@dmc1418 That’s what I keep telling myself! Congrats on getting in and hopefully I’ll be able to join you at Elon next year!

@Sun1234 Don’t let this ruin your thanksgiving! My mom told me not to be miserable before I need to be, and I think those are words you should pass on to your daughter! Admissions decisions come out tonight and we will know then. They couldn’t possibly have called everyone, but it is a difficult wait for those who did not receive a call. I wouldn’t think of it in terms of favorites. Let your daughter know she isn’t alone, and I hope to meet her on campus next year!

@Sun1234 Take a look at the blog post called “The Phone Call Mystery”. It’s from 2012, but is very reassuring.

Will decisions be posted immediately at midnight?

@Lyvie999 yes the decisions will be posted exactly at midnight. Good luck! Hope to see you next year
