Did anyone else on this forum audition early for MT at Elon, and if so have you heard anything yet? I’m just wondering if they let everyone know all at once (the EA deadline from the school is Dec. 18th), and/or if the MT department will contact students separately from whatever is posted on the Elon OnTrack website. Thanks!
Hi @LifeIsAMusical we also auditioned early for MT at Elon. We have not heard anything as of yet (academically or artistically)
S just heard by message on Acceptd. Rejected. Darn, he really liked it there.
Just checked Acceptd and D got the rejection message as well. Elon is a really incredible school and program, would have loved to see her in their program.
Rejection for my D today too. The first one with many more to come I am sure. We celebrated it by going out to dinner… Heck, she is one step closer to finding her match. Let’s keep looking ahead and keeping our kids positive!
Hi, my daughter was happy to find out she was deferred at Elon until March last night. I agree with everyone above about how stressful this process is for both the kids and the parents. Good luck to all!
Found out yesterday that I was deferred until March as well. Celebrating the good news! Good luck to everyone on this crazy crazy process!
My S was also very happy to learn that he was deferred at Elon until March. Good luck to everyone!
Did anyone else think the 11 hour audition day was ridiculous? We left feeling less than impressed with that and the fact that in all that time students/parents were not given a tour of facilities or the campus etc…
Ok what the heck does it mean if you are deferred? Lol
Deferred is sort of a hold; not accepted, not rejected. Waiting to make a decision on the candidate once all auditions are complete.
Oh ok thanks @lojosmo . Seems like that might be hard too…waiting till march and hoping it’s an acceptance! I might just rather be told no or yes right away! So is that sorta like “well we like you but…we might see someone better so…” Not to be mean but it seems a bit squirrelly! And that’s not disparaging the kids wait listed of course, it just plucks my nerves a bit as a mom…
@theatrework, as a mom who went through this last year, only one school responded in what I thought was a timely manner. The waiting gets REALLY hard in March when all the audition chaos is over and you have nothing else to distract you while you wait. This is not a sprint, so hang on! Best of luck!!!
My S had the LAST audition day at Elon, March 4. That’s his last audition, too! That will be such a relief,
Good luck to S. My S had the last audition day at Elon also, three years ago. He got in, but went to BW. I’d do the audition year over again in a heartbeat. In retrospect, it was stressful but so, so fun to spend all that time with S.
