I don’t feel qualified to comment, since all I have to compare you to is my daughter and her friends – hardly a representative sample – though I’d admit you in a heartbeat. Well done! You’d be a shoe-in for ED (My D got in ED with lower grades, scores and EC’s than you have). I’d expect you to have no trouble RD either but I’d hate sway you and be wrong about it.
The thing you need to know about Elon is that they want students that want to be there, so demonstrating interest is a big deal to them. Visit campus if you can and meet with an admissions rep. Go to college fairs. Even if you can’t do that, develop a relationship with your area rep. Ask questions, communicate your interest in Elon, fill them in on accomplishments and awards you get after your application is submitted etc.(the admissions reps can and will advocate for students if they know them) On your application use the extra space to express why you think Elon is a perfect fit for you.
There are not many scholarships available through Elon. I suggest you run the calculator and see what you EFC is and what financial aid you might qualify for. You need to be realistic - do you want to go deeply into debt if there are not scholarships for you? My advice is to look at other colleges who offer scholarships - there are some private colleges that have a lot of scholarships for the students. Did you know Duke gives an average of over 40K per student? The tough part about Duke is being admitted. There are lots and lots of colleges that have a lot of alumni who donate towards scholarships. I think you need to think long and hard if you are willing to go in deep debt just for college. I think you should try and find another private college with scholarships but you also need to consider colleges in the UNC system. I have been to 6 colleges with my child and every single one was different. We went up to Elon this summer and although the campus is beautiful, quiet, etc., this college is absolutely not for my daughter. You must, must have a campus visit before you decide this is the college for you! Another point to note is that some colleges consider you for scholarships only if you meet the Early Action date - usually somewhere between October and mid-December. Good luck.
