<p>I was wondering if we get our NU email account after we send in our deposit? I just wanted to know so that I can join the Northwestern network on facebook.</p>
<p>You already have it, you just have to activate it.</p>
<p>I have activated mine but it doesn't work~It can only send email letters out but it cannot receive letters.

everyone I know who are current students at northwestern have email accounts in this format: "(first initial)-(last name)@northwestern.edu"</p>
<p>yeah, its kinda weird like that. i think you'll get an emai llater on telling you how to activate it properly or something, i dont remember. or you can go around the nuit website to try to find more info?</p>
<p>Once your deposit is accepted (or around that time) it will say initial-lastname instead of ADMIT-netid. Happens to everyone.</p>

<p>oh is that because i changed my email box name like ***@northwestern.edu instead of the original one so i cannot receive email letters? Actually u can simply modify ur name on nuit website.</p>
<p>You can change your name to whatever you want, but you can't do anything until it's not ADMIT-dsf437 or whatever... I'm not sure what the question is? Once you change your alias, that becomes your new @nu email address.</p>
<p>Thats not true- I joined the network on Facebook with my <a href="mailto:ADMIT-_@">ADMIT-_@</a>... email.</p>
<p>I meant I do not believe you can change your alias (what comes before the @nu) until it is not ADMIT-netid. Also, that will not be your email for long and I don't know if once it changes, if ADMIT-netid will still receive email, so you might want to be careful.</p>
