Email for leadership award alumni scholarship?

Since people don't know if they've been accepted, only the real dedicated applicants are going to apply. It's a better use of their time to only have the kids who are dead-set on attending apply.

yes, i too received this email.
have the ucla ones been sent out yet?
and whats the reagents scholarship

You are connecting dots that do not line up. An applicant may or maynot be committed who fills out the application and sits for an interview. I am addressing what would be more appropriate for the applicant. I could suggest my son sit for the interview and fill out the application for the experience of the interview. It will be his choice as to which school to attend.

I'm not saying that kids are going to apply and not have a strong desire to attend.

The kid who applied on a whim, with no strong desire to go, probably wouldn't try to go interview, which narrows it down.
It also may be evident that the kid shows no strong passion for the school, even if they go interview.

And not everyone's parents play a large role in their child's application process.

It is a short and fairly simple app., do it.

It is $1500 EACH YEAR, if it is renewed. It reduces loans first. It can be $2000 in the last year, so $6500 over 4 years. I am thrilled my DD saved me that by getting it all four years.

You connect with nice people in the alumni dept. who effort to help you make connections. You get a discount at the bookstore. It is much better than wasting tons of time on SAMMY or other national $10k scholarships. You actually have a chance to get this.

Once kids are accepted by the school the alumni dept efforts to get you a yes or no before you have to commit so you know going in whether you got it or not.

Don't you have to reapply each year for this scholarship?

Yes you do reapply every year. If you don't get it this year, apply again.

My DD has had it all four years. They are looking for people who are involved and active on campus, be interesting ;)
