^^^You sound quite unique.

^^^Really special.

Gees guys...it's not as if you're waiting for an interview email or acknowledgement of receipt of application materials. You'll all get it in due time.

Basically, all the email says is "look here https://notify.princeton.edu/ come March 31st."

If you're still worried, here are important snippets from the email:

"The first step is to register to use Princetons application tracking system...to register you must have two pieces of information: the email address and PIN you recorded on your Princeton application. You will use the email address and PIN from your application to create a username and password. We recommend that you write down the username and password you create when you register.
To register, go to https://admissionapp.princeton.edu/uarcd/"

"The second step, viewing your decision, requires you to enter the username and password you created during registration. (Please note that your username and password are not the same as your email address and PIN!)."

Maybe it is alphabetical order. I received the e-mail on the 19th and am closer to the beginning of the alphabet.

Searching through last year's posts there seems to be no correlation between getting the email and acceptances/ rejections. Many who got the email were later rejected, only 2 in the end did not get the email ( to the best of my search) one was rejected, the other waitlisted.

I've already said it before.... but here goes AGAIN!!

it has to do with whether you applied with the Princeton application or the Common App. That's because people who used the Princeton app, don't need to make another id, whereas people who used the common app need to make an id to access their decisions. Therefore, everyone who recieved an e-mail must have used the common app!!

coolkid, my son used the common app and has not received an email.

toshima, i used the common app also and got one... like people said, it could be alphabetical...i got mine early with b for my last name

I used the common app too, and have received no email. My last name starts with S.

I used the Common App.
I got my e-mail on the 20th.
My last name begins with the letter "W."

I used the CommonApp but my last name starts with H and still no email so that kinda rules out alphabetical. I also registered with Princeton months ago.

I bet the Princeton adcom is sitting there laughing at us for overanalyzing all of this.

D got the email, applied common ap, last name starts with "B" . . .

It is sort of funny to see you guys totally trying to figure out some rhyme or reason to this.

To add to your data set:
Michigan.
Princeton app.
Applied a few days before the deadline.
Last name starts with M.
Got my email before this thread was made.

sorry to crush your idea, but daughter used the Princeton app and she recieved the e-mail on the 20th

I think it involves whether or not you registered on there system already. I've already signed up with my pin and have not gotten an email.

Nope, sorry, doesn't matter if you were registered or not. I registered on the site before emails were sent out and I still got an email.

I got the email on friday (the 19th I'm pretty sure) and I had already registered on the site. So I have to agree that theory is probably invalid.

So I think it's pretty much mass notification on that date for most ivys and top colleges. Why is Northwestern so late though!?!

Well, I haven't gotten the email yet, and just in case I never get it (I never got UChicago's either...), can someone please reveal the contents of the email? I'd like to get at least some instructions on how to check my decision online (waiting for snail mail would be horrible!)

Admission decisions for applicants to the Princeton Class of 2012 will be available online on Monday, March 31, 2008 after 5 pm EDT. We also will mail decision letters by post to all applicants.

Accessing your decision online involves a two-part process.

The first step is to register to use Princeton’s application tracking system. If you have not already registered for a username and password, please do so soon. Because of the large number of visitors we anticipate to the site when it goes live, the registration system will be unavailable from 4 to 8 pm EDT on March 31, 2008. We urge you to register soon.

To register you must have two pieces of information: the email address and PIN you recorded on your Princeton application. You will use the email address and PIN from your application to create a username and password. We recommend that you write down the username and password you create when you register. To register, go to https://admissionapp.princeton.edu/uarcd/

The second step, viewing your decision, requires you to enter the username and password you created during registration. (Please note that your username and password are not the same as your email address and PIN!)

If you already registered to use Princeton’s application tracking system to verify whether we received all of your application materials, you will use that username and password to view your decision.

To protect the confidentiality of your decision, do not share your username and password with anyone. When you have finished viewing your decision online, be certain to close your browser.

On March 31, go to https://notify.princeton.edu/ to view your decision. You may wish to bookmark this link ahead of time. (Be sure to copy and paste the entire link. Note that it begins with https, rather than http.)

Applicants who did not list an email address and PIN on the application will need to wait for their decisions to arrive by postal mail, or call our office between 9 am and 5 pm EDT beginning on April 3, 2008.

Thank you for applying to Princeton!
