I was wondering what I should mention in my emails to (arts) department heads. Will a list of my achievements in the particular field and an expression of my interest in their program suffice? I don’t know if it’s appropriate to submit recordings/video submissions in the email, since there is already a space to do so in the application portals.
Thank you!
Idk. What questions did you ask the AO that they told you to ask the department head? Because you’re not just sending unsolicited emails blindly, right?

I am heavily involved in piano and dance, which was an important point I talked about in my interviews. I have significant achievements in both - I’ve played at Carnegie Hall multiple times and I’ve placed highly in dance competitions - so all of the AOs suggested that I email department heads to make them aware of my application. I’m just wondering what I should talk about in those emails.

Then you say something like:
When I interviewed with so and so they mentioned that I should contact you to find out more about your X program. I am very passionate about whatever you’re passionate about and have a few questions. Questions here.
I am submitting arts supplements but I’ve heard from previous applicants that the system is glitchy so I am attaching them below. Please let me know if you have any questions about X. I’m so excited for the opportunity to attend where ever.

I agree (mostly) with @one1ofeach template! I don’t think I would say anything about “hearing that their system is glitchy.” (Like why say to a school: “rumor around the water cooler is that you have technical problems that you can’t figure out.”) :). Maybe instead it’s: I submitted my portfolio through the application portal, but I’m also adding it here in case it might be helpful for you to see it. (or whatever)
