<p>Emerson has a bifurcated admissions process. Academics and artistic review count equally but are determined separately, with the admissions office deciding on the academic component and the theatre department on the artistic. To get into the theatre program, you must be admitted both academically and artistically. Students can be admitted academically but not artistically and be offered the opportunity to select a different major. Students who are rejected academically are out regardless of the artistic component.</p>
