Emory ed class of 2013

Hey everyone! This thread is for students who have applied or are applying to Emory early decision. I just want to get to know some of the people who are applying and hopefully going there next year. So if you're applying ED to Emory or are considering it, please leave a post here!!!

Thanks!

CLASS OF '13!

Emory is definitely my number one choice, well only, as of now.

Hey mentalmystic... thanks for posting. That's good, but u gotta have backups as well lol. Keep updating till we get our acceptance letters! :)

well, i'm banking on not needing back-ups but in a non-committal way i have safeties.

Cool. Care to post you profile? I'll post mine too...

Hey guys! I'm applying ED to Emory too. Anyone know Emory's acceptance rate for ED? I can't stop stressing about getting in.

Hey bigglesworth don't worry man, we're all in the same boat...I don't know how many times I've wished it was December. In any case, I've heard somewhere that it's around 35% for ED.

Where are you guys from?

the rep who came to my school said ED I was about 60%, since the most academically strong students apply. but ED II was much lower.

I live in Marietta, GA (metro-area suburb) its about 25 minutes from downtown and maybe 30 or so from Emory, main campus.

Thanks for that mentalmystic, that really helps. When I contacted an admissions officer about ED they said it was about 35%. That's probably for ED 1 and ED2.

I'm from California, quite far away from Emory.

Bump there's gotta be more cc'ers that are applying to emory...

yeah, i just applied on sunday. i have to get my school forms sent and i plan to try emory scholars

That's good to hear Rikimusha. Where are you from?

P.S. It would be great and also highly appreciated if you could post your profile here (grades, scores, ec's, etc.) Thanks a lot!

Well, im from Douglasville, GA
i have a 3.66 gpa uw, i did quite a bit of ec, but as far as SAT scores, mmmm not so well.... i only got like a 1000(math 550, cr 450)and a ACT score of 20 =( my first try. I'm getting my subject test results tomorrow and i have another reasoning test on nov 1.
ill keep you updated =D

I'm from California. My SAT's are 2260: math- 800, CR- 670, and writing- 790 (for what it's worth). My gpa is kinda low-- 3.6 uw, 4.0 weighted (at a nationally recognized public school). And I also have loads of very good ec's (or at least I think so).

Rikimusha- what do you think your chances are of getting Scholars?

actually... i feel pretty indimidated altogether, so many guys with high SATs and gpas. so i guess if my essay comes out really good to the readers, i think i have a shot. I'm probably not going to be on the high side of the score pool when they look at the applicants; maybe i need more faith... I need to find a way to brush up on the reasoning test parts, i'm not cutting the cheese at all lol

hey guyz :) I'm definitely applying to emory ed! I'd love to get to know you guys too lol

sup dweet :D

nothin much lol just workin on my essays, ahhh.. writiing essays are much more fun than studying for sats lol. I sure do hope to get in emory ed. you rikimusha? :D

I'm studying for my last SAT =p and thinking about whether i should enter in Emory Scholars, since my SAT/ACT scores are what drag me down. If i don't get that, i may try to get a number of scholarships at fast web and join the Navy ROTC

I'm also studying for my last SAT too! I didn't take the reasoning test in october, so.
I'm pretty sure I won't be applying to Emory Scholars. my parents told me they will pay for the first year tuition. but then I might give it a shot on my sophomore year (that is, if I do get in lol)
