Yea Emory Scholars may be out of the question for me too, but i have to decide by tomorrow since im starting my essay then. btw do you have an msn im acc?

good luck with that=) I probably will spend tomorrow with loads of essay revising and sat workbooks. arg. I'll pm you my msn

Hey dweet, welcome to the "family" lol. Great to meet you. IF you get a chance please post your "profile" (stats) and tell us where you are from. Also, just like you guys. I'm not sure whether to apply for Emory Scholars. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!!

Just a note: you are aware that you can't just "apply" for Emory Scholars, as you do to Emory; you have to be nominated by your high school, and there is an additional essay to write for it; all materials (regular application, Emory Scholars, counselor and teacher recs, etc.) must be postmarked by Nov. 1. But maybe you knew all that.

Zetesis- yes we (or at least, I) know that. Your counselor does have to recommend you, but it still counts as "applying " for it. We would still be applying for the scholarship. And since we're all ED, it has to be postmarked before Nov 1 anyway. Thanks for the heads-up.

hey siri4fun, lol love to be part of the "family" would be proabably better if I get in lol.
my stats are pretty mediocre, my sat is about 2100~ but then I'm retaking my sat1 on november cuz I didn't take them on october. I got math2 and biology as my sat2s. I got sorta low gpa which is 3.5. whew.. gpa worries me.

yeah gpa worries me too. Mine is about 3.58 uw and 4.0 weighted. where are you from, dweet?

Any others out there?

Have any of you turned in your apps? I'm writing my "Why Emory" short answer for the Common App supplement right this moment, lol. I plan to turn it in tomorrow. And then I plan to lose sleep over it every day until December 15.

Yeah, my guidance counselor sent mines in friday...OMG im sooo worry, I think i may lose sleep too.

i turned in everything last week, im finishing up my emory scholars essay

I turned it everything today; I'm not applying for Scholars. Now I have to do UC apps and also apply for scholarships. Sigh. I seriously cannot wait any longer for December 15.

oh i see, good luck on those

i'm having doubts about my application... i think i might pull it. do i need to provide an explanation?

dude stay pumped, doubting will only make it worse. what are you stuck on anyway?

my SAT score isn't good enough, more so on the math section... i feel my application will be a waste. i went to an Emory event sunday and i left feeling a little discouraged.

nothing is a waste mental, if you want to get into Emory, then try your hardest until you get the news. not everyone has the perfect SAT or ACT score(i know i haven't), so keep at it and make your essays super good. the SATs is a factor, but not the biggest factor. if you compare yourself to others in a time like this, youll end up nowhere dude.

what i recommend is that you look over your application and make it perfect and work your GPA higher and do more ec's

Hey I'm from Jonesboro GA, I'm Applying regular decsion! EU all the way. I agree standardize tests or Gpa's aren't everything as long as you have solid ecs. Hey besides if Emory dosen't work out, then there are plenty of other places. (You don't know how hard it is for me to say that)

hey CSU welcome! mental- if you really want to go to emory, apply man! if you don't get in, you'll have other options, but if you don't apply, you definitely won't get in. I'm sure other parts of your app are great enough to overshadow the SATs.

Hey guys :) I'm from Lilburn, GA and I'm applying to Emory through ED I. My SAT score is 1520 (800 Math, 720 CR) and I have a weighted GPA of 4.0..my school doesn't have unweighted GPAs, but I've gotten 2 Bs before. I have yet to turn in my application (I haven't done the supplement) even though all my teachers have already turned in their recommendations, so I'm kind of in a bind right now :(
