has anyone gotten time to hang out in atlanta for more than just a day or so? I visited Emory twice and stayed in Atlanta for like 24 hours each time. i was just wondering what people like/dislike about it who’ve spent a decent amount of time there.

@kac622 I lived there for 9 years and really enjoyed it!

@APBS1909 what are some of the best/worst things about it in your opinion? I know I probably won’t be spending much time in the city itself if I do go to emory, but still nice to know.

@Kac622 I visited Atlanta countless times! I live in Tennessee

I loved it when I visited :x

@kac622 When I lived there the traffic was really bad, which is the worst thing I can think of. I think Atlanta is great because everyone is really friendly and hospitable. It is a Southern city , but also has a very distinct young and urban culture. It is a big city, so there is a lot of stuff to do. I also think Atlanta has the best of both worlds when it comes to weather because it is warm, but you still get to experience all four season. I love it, but I may be biased because it is where I grew up.

would it be possible to visit Emory during Winter Break if I were accepted? or school will be closed?

omg i hav a math test tmrw but cant concentrate IM GG guys

@APBS1909 living in Los Angeles i know more about traffic than i ever thought possible so i’ll probably be able to manage. but that sounds like a really nice place. hopefully i’ll get to experience it next year with all of you! :)

@kac622 haha then you’ll be perfectly fine!

@LOLLAND I was planning on visiting during Winter Break if I get in but the campus will be closed. So idk what I’m going to do lol

I hope this year’s ED1 acceptance rate is high as last year…

Does anyone know if there is a difference between greencard holder(permanent resident) and internationals? Are there different pools in college admission?

@dk8511 greencard holders are classified as “domestic” applicants, whereas internationals are classified as “international” applicants. Emory consists of 15-20%?? of international students. Therefore internationals are harder to get in. (most internationals should be on 75+% range)

@LOLLAND Thanks for the answer!

I’m not even going to school bc all my friends got me sick KMS

@LOLLAND No I did not get an email under FA app under review. I did however get one saying my application is under review and the financial aid info was below that incase I was interested in. All we can do now is really sit and wait for this coming Monday 6PM eastern time(that’s like 3-4 o clock for me, right after school… yehhh). Good luck ladies and gentlemen.

4 days and 4 hours [-O<

You guys need to chill. it’s just college admissions. If you get in then that’s great , but if you don’t then it’s not the end of the world. There are hundreds of colleges out their , Emory is just one of them .

So my friend just got accepted to Cornell and I’m still waiting for mine like an idiot…
