Emory ED1 Class of 2019 Thread

While there is still almost a month until decisions come out, I thought it would be a good idea to start this thread so we can all wait anxiously together. :)

Anyway, feel free to post any general comments or questions, as someone may be able to answer them.

I am so anxious! I hope the applicant pool this year is not too competitive T.T

I’m with y’all! Best of luck to everyone!

For those of you that applied ED1, what are your statistics? I’m applying ED2 and wondered what the ED1 pool looked like.

Hey everyone.
My basic stats are 3.5 gpa and 2230 SAT. But, my gpa has gone way up lately so I’m hoping they will recognize the upward trend!

Are decisions ever released early??

Really anxious for the notification…I still haven’t sent my bank statement though due to some trouble. I got it, but I’m not sure if I’m supposed to mail it by post or scan it and email the pdf. :l
I emailed them, but they haven’t answered yet.
On a side note: Are the financial aid policies the same for the oxford college and emory’s main campus? I heard Emory doesn’t do much justice for international applicants who aren’t well-off.

@JonConneryl‌ I think we need to send it through e-mail. Have you already sent it?

I think using the term of “not doing justice” for receiving what you consider an inadequate gift from the university (that may still total tens of thousands of dollars) is a bit presumptuous. Certainly too much for me. Nobody owes you ANYTHING.

Ahhhhhh im so nervous, im in love with Emory and I would run track there if I got accepted

i was waiting for this to be posted. good luck to everyone! it literally came down to the last day for me to decide where i was actually going to send out my ed1 app to. definitely feel like i made the right choice

SAT: 2230
UW GPA: 3.7, but has gone up this year

@JJLeeeeeee‌ Ah, thanks mate. I haven’t send it yet. I suppose I shall today.
@AsleepAtTheWheel‌ Yeah, I realize that was poor wording. Sorry.

Did they request a bank statement from you?

@JonConneryl – My son’s a freshman at Emory. He went the RD route – at this point in the application/admissions cycle he had little interest in Emory. It wasn’t until we attended the Accepted Students Day in late April that he had the epiphany of “This is where I want to be”. He is very happy there. We would have avoided all sorts of stress, etc. if he’d gone the ED route.

So, that all said, best of luck to you!!

I’m so anxious I wish they released decisions early

Do any of you guys know what date it’s supposed to come out on. Last year it came out on the Friday before the 15th… Does anyone know if it’s the same this year?

@bigbenf97‌ as far as I know, it should be the 15th.

Did everyone get the email today from the office of financial aid?

I received one too! btw, does that letter mean something about our admission?
