How is the area around Emory, is it nice? Are there a lot of things to do outside of the school? Are there a lot of internship opportunities provided by Emory or around/in the Atlanta area? After graduating from Emory, how hard/easy is it to find a job? Does Emory help you in finding jobs/internships?

If anyone else has any questions about Emory you guys can ask in this thread too if you'd like? :)

I think your perception of Emory and Atlanta will depend on where you are coming from. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY so the amount of activities available in Atlanta does not really do it for me. Around Emory, you can find a lot of places to eat (though none really stand out to me) and there is a huge mall complex nearby. Besides shopping and eating, there isn’t much else to do. There is a nice aquarium in Atlanta and the Coke museum next to it and those are definitely worth at least a visit.

One of my favorite things with Emory is their Eagle Ops network. It is basically a database that you can access online that posts many internships as well as full time offerings. Most of the offerings are for juniors and seniors but even as a sophomore I have found the Eagle Ops network to be an invaluable resource in finding an internship. I have not yet graduated so I cannot comment on how easy it is to find a job. Emory definitely helps you though and I think the job placement out of the business school is something like 85%.

You haven’t been to Six Flags or Stone Mt., Whitewater Park, American Adventure (note 3 of these are theme parks), Lake Lanier, OctoberFest in Helen, etc? Perhaps you’re too used to big city fun. Yeah, the Emory area itself is kind of boring in “chill/hangout” forms of recreation (I suppose it’s awesome for those who like nature trails and stuff), but for me, that’s what the Grady, Emory Hospital Midtown, and Georgia Tech shuttles are for.

The best way to answer your questions is to visit the school, see for yourself and ask your questions directly to the staff and profs. They’re very friendly and I think you’ll like what you see and hear.
