Emory Greek Life/Frat Rankings? How difficult is it to get into a frat?

The most recent fraternity rankings of Emory are from 2011 and several of the fraternities listed there no longer exist. Could any Emory upperclassmen give brief frat reputations or rankings?
Also, how hard is it to get a bid from a frat? I know Greek life is big, so is it really competitive and difficult?

I think Emory’s fraternities can be separated into 3 tiers:

Top Tier:

Sigma Chi - These guys are studs. Know how to have a good time and have been at the top of the row for a while now. Very good with girls. Mix mostly with TriDelt and Theta.

SAE - Generally get similar kids who rush Sigma Chi. They have a pool which is pretty awesome.
T-3. ATO - Known as the nice guys who are focused on being involved on campus and maintaining a high GPA. Very competitive rush process.
T-3. Beta - Newest house on the row. They throw down every year (Mansion party is always packed). Take large pledge classes

(SigNu would be put right under SigChi before they got booted off campus)

Middle Tier:
4. AEPi - Jewish fraternity that throw good parties. Last year’s RavEPi was packed
5. ZBT - Also primarily Jewish fraternity that has been rising in the ranks the past few years. Losing their house though so that doesnt help.
6. KA - Southern in a country music kind of way. Lots of drinking. Usually gives out blanket bids

Bottom Tier:
7. Kappa Sig - Don’t really know what these guys are about
8. Pike - Got SigNu’s old house, but they still don’t have much going on.
9. ChiPhi- Nice guys who are just starting out as a fraternity
10. SigEp- Non-existent.

Two tier system here:

Tier I
-SigmaChi: Mix with the top sororities on campus. Most competitive rush process. Don’t lose many of the bids they give out, maybe lose 1 or 2 kids every year to other fraternities.
-SAE: They have a pool in their house and they throw good pool parties. Pretty diverse for a traditionally southern fraternity. Dress preppy: think sperry and polo.
-Beta: When you think beta, think big. Big house, big parties, big pledge classes.
-ATO: Always take kids that don’t necessarily scream “frat.” Brothers are generally involved in things other than the fraternity.
-AEPi: Jewish fraternity that is tough to get into unless you know some brothers there.

Tier II
-ZBT: Jewish kids who are losing their house next year but will probably move to the SigNu (now Pike) house.
-KA: Gets a bad rep for being racist when in reality they are decent guys. Do well in the fall cause freshmen love their parties. Mix a lot with Gamma Phi.
-Kappa Sigma: Get a lot of random kids. They have the biggest house on the campus but they have a hard time bringing kids to their house during rush.
-ChiPhi/Pike: Both fraternities are just starting to attract new members…both have gotten better houses.
-SigEp: haven’t seen a single brother from this fraternity walking around campus…honestly dont know if they even have a brotherhood anymore?

The only people who seem to have trouble at rush are those who are pre-set on rushing certain fraternities rather than getting to know at least a few brothers at every house. Obviously some fraternities are going to be harder to get into than others, but instead at looking at the most selective fraternity its probably more important to see where you fit best.

Is it hard to get a bid if you don’t know any brothers before rush or is that how most people are? And I understand that there are a few rounds of rush, but how does the rush process generally work?

Also, is fall rush more competitive? I have a lot of things going on this semester and I am just wondering if I should take it easy this semester and just rush and pledge next year in the fall.

Top Tier:

 1. Sigma Chi - Lots of people on campus have problems with these dudes but they're studs. Most of them are either athletes or rich international kids. Girls consider them the best looking dudes on campus but some are self-centered and douchey.
 2. SAE - Very big 2015 spring pledge class with solid dudes. Have a pool which means some of the best parties when the weather is nice
 3. KA - Southern fraternity with good looking guys. They kind of do their own thing but girls like going to KA because the parties are fun. 2015 pledge class was probably the 2nd best on the row.
 4. ATO - Very well liked by the school, faculty and students Competitive rush process. The younger guys are great with girls and involved on campus. ATO's downfall is that many older guys dislike the fraternity and aren't involved at all.

Middle Tier:
5. ZBT - Trying to move away from their jappy Long Island reputation. Good with girls and have guys who are involved on campus. Losing their house to Chi Phi which is significant.
6. AEPI - Jewish, Long Island kids. Most people on campus have a problem with them because of their arrogance. Honestly not bad dudes but they lost some guys to Sig Chi during rush this year.

Bottom Tier:
7. Kappa Sig - Smoke a lot, some of the brothers have a drug problem. Their house is actually the biggest on the row but it’s in a bad location and they have trouble bringing people out. Some cool brothers but they also tend to have a lot of random guys in the brotherhood because they have to fill their house.
8. Pike - Have a terrible reputation on campus which is kind of unwarranted. The older guys are cool and involved on campus (especially within the B-School). Last 3 pledge classes have been all over the place though.
9. Chi Phi- Nice guys just starting a fraternity. Because they needed to fill their house they gave bids to a lot of random guys the last 2 years. Girls tend to skip Chi Phi Mixers because they’re not very outgoing and social. Getting the best house on the row next year so that should be interesting.
10. SigEp - Not really a frat. More of a club. Nice guys who are trying to get a house but I haven’t really heard of Sig Ep having any sort of mixers or events.
