Emory Fraternities

I know rankings like these are kinda stupid but how would you guys rate the fraternities at Emory (top, middle, bottom)?

I am too far removed from my days at Emory (so far back that rush was right after orientation and the fraternities could more easily get pledges), but all fraternities are different and you should take each on its own as opposed to collectively as a group. There are websites out there which will provide stereotypes of each. What I do find unfortunate is that there are people out there with an axe to grind against all fraternities and sororities. It comes from a feeling of being excluded. What I like about them at Emory is that they are organized and field teams (with continuity) in intramural sports and the houses can be good places to socialize. All of them are charged with community service work and can contribute positively to a college experience. They aren’t for everyone, but Emory has other choices.

I do get that Oxford students, coming over as juniors, can feel excluded from the process and, for that reason, it’s an Emory College thing.

@TheTennisNinja I didn’t realize you were looking for rankings of each one.

I don’t believe College Confidential is the appropriate site for that. Even those websites which rank fraternities are littered with fraternity and sorority members giving themselves good rankings. The best thing to do is to form your own opinion by talking to people on campus, getting to know members, and attending their open events. What might be a good fraternity for some, might not be for others. Some are more diverse than others. I did get a look at the 2017 grades of greeks vs non-greeks and it’s also broken down by organization. For the most part, the sororities were above the overall average Emory GPA and fraternities were a little below.
