Hey Guys since there is no thread about the upcoming Open House for Emory Admitted Students...I thought I start one...

So the Open House will be on April 4 starting from 8 AM...the deadline to make a reservation is April the 1st...

Basically this is the day where upcoming freshmen can listen in on classes, talk and congregate with future and current students, and basically do whatever they want on campus (to my knowledge)

So whose coming? What are you guys gonna do? What classes are you going to attend...and generally WHAT ARE YOU GUYS LOOKING FORWARD TO?

it probably will be like a college visit except with people who will go here next year. I have stuff planed already so I probably wont come those who will go can write stuff about it here. wait, there is 4 days for it??? is this the orientation or is there another one?

There are 4 possible days you can visit you don’t have to go to all 4. This isn’t orientation, just a welcoming event for admitted students that gives them a glimpse to what classes are like and life at Emory :]

My son is visiting on April 9th if admitted. Why is there an open house just 3 days after RD admission is released? That doesn’t make much aense. There is not enough time to plan if coming from OOS and too expensive to buy a ticket ahead of time if rejected?

On the 4 days that I mentioned there will be a complimentary lunch at the DUC where you will have to opportunity to sit and talk with current students who have signed up to eat lunch with the visitors. The students may or may not be official Emory tour guides but they are all part of Emory Student Ambassadors a club here on campus and they look forward to meeting you and answering questions you may have about life here at Emory.

Jason, I’ve eaten at a university cafeteria numerous times (rated 10th worst of all colleges). It’s amazing at first, but you’ll get tired. I’m not saying Emory is top 10 worst, but I haven’t heard great things about the DUC either. You have 4 years to eat your heart out at the DUC. Save it!

Isn’t this admitted students day more for RD kids who don’t know if they want to attend Emory? What’s there for us EDI/EDII students?
