Emory Scholars - chances?

I know decisions come out today but I was wondering if I should even get my hopes up. I’ll gladly chance anyone who chances me

I am already ACCEPTED to Emory under ED1, so I know I will be going there regardless.

ACT: 30 - probably the weakest part of my application
GPA: 3.9 (out of 4.0) UW, 4.4 W
EC’s: Marching band, Wind symphony, NHS, Beta, Happy healthy hearts club, Tri-M society
Involved in multiple Honor band clinics and performances
Awards: Young Georgia Author’s State Winner in 2011 or 2012 (can’t remember), multiple Band honors, and an award in French
Leadership: Band President, Principal Clarinet in Wind Symphony, Section Leader in marching band for 2 years, NHS VP 1 year, NHS tutoring coordinator 2 years, Beta Club Officer of community service, along with some other minor roles
Essays: Pretty amazing. I’m going for writing and it’s what I’m good at
Teacher recommendations: 1 pretty good, the other great
Additional recommendation: my uncle is the head of the National Education Association so that was a pretty lucky addition to my application

AP’S: I will graduate with 10 this year
Senior course load: AP Lit, AP Econ, AP Calc AB, Mastery Band IV, the rest is internship with a newspaper

Chances? Thanks!

I was also a GHP nominee for two consecutive years. English in 2013 and Music Performance in 2014, although I never actually went to GHP, just nominated.

A bit low for emory scholars…this years pool is far more competitive .they received close to 6700 applications,as opposed to 3,500 the year before.
All the same anything is possible.Good luck!

The reason why they received so many more applications this year, is because they eliminated the essay for the scholar application. All you had to do was check a box.

We regret to inform you that you are not among the group of finalists who have been
selected. This year’s pool of over 6,000 scholar nominees was particularly competitive, representing some of the top
students in the world. :-<
