Emory Scholars Results!

Well, I got an email four minutes ago. I did receive the Liberal Arts Scholarship ($13k/year), but unfortunately I didn't move on. How did everyone else do?

Yup, I got one for $15K per year. I guess I am done. I am not going to Emory anyways.

Yeah. Apparently the Liberal Arts winners aren’t even part of the scholars program, but those winning other partial scholarships are. I’m going to contest it. Might as well, considering I’m not going at this point anyway either.

Same here… Liberal Arts

Not what I was going for, but it’s better than nothing. Receiving any form of merit scholarship from Emory is an honor in my opinion.

Same. Probably can’t go to Emory with that much though. How would you contest it?

Just got the email, I’m a finalist! =D Aaah, I can’t believe it!

I got liberal. Does the scholarship amount add to financial aid? Or does it replace the loan/work study portion??

finalist!! :D

Finalist! =)

13k; congrats to the finalists! =)

I got liberal. 17k/year! I don’t think I can go to Emory though.

Where is everyone from?

I got liberal as well, 15k a year. I have the same question as boomshakalaka…

Say I choose to attend Emory. Would they subtract $15,000 from the grant they award me, essentially making this scholarship worth nothing?

488140
As long as your total pkg does not exceed total cost, they would not subtract the 15k from your grant.

So you’re telling me that if, FOR EXAMPLE, my EFC is $8000, and my combined self-help/work-study/student loans come out to be $7000, I’d be going to Emory for free?

^no, u still have to pay for ur EFC, which is 8000

so would the scholarship cover any and all loans i have? i qualify for the emory loan cap program, which means my loans are capped at $15,000 for my entire four years. and this scholarship is $15k PER YEAR.

i shouldnt expect to pay any more than my EFC, right?

Congrats to all the award recipients! It seems like this year was tough, so you should all be very proud. I got nothing, but it’s their loss; I’m going to Yale! :D
