Accepted and invited to Essence! I’m literally shaking I couldn’t believe it when I saw the e-mail. I can’t attend the event due to a conflict, but I hope it means I have a better chance for a scholarship.

I was also accepted today and invited to the Essence program, but I registered 4 hours after I got the email and the portal said that registration has exceeded. Other than that, I am so happy I got in!! It was so random and exiting☺️
@dkahfdfhk : They don’t release all of the decisions at once and I suspect it also includes first gen. folks and perhaps other pretty low income folks, though that would have a bias towards URMs, so those would be a bulk of Essence students.

I had no idea decisions came out so early. Was it only for questbridge students or do yall think emory is rolling decisions out in batches?
why did they send an emailing saying they come out next Wednesday, but some got it today? Was it for qb or are they just rolling out decisions in batches?
I may be wrong but I think the only kids who were accepted today were those invited to essence. Only 6 more days so not too long to wait.
WashU Financial Aid just sent me their aid package/scholarships because it was a school I applied for a while back…
Pretty much a full ride for the 2019-20 year compared to Emory’s 7.5K a year (in the case that I accept the federal work-study)… I also read on Emory’s website that people with EFC lower than $6000 will have their deposit waived but I realized I didn’t 
I committed to Emory already though so I hope it’s all worth it in the end 
Yes, I’m hispanic. I’m not low-income nor first generation (well, my mom passed away and my dad never went to college, so not sure if that counts or not). My mom graduated from Emory though.

@luckyluckyduck Not sure about rolling. We weren’t expecting a decision until end of the month. She received an email earlier this week about decisions coming out then bam there it was. She’s not QuestBridge though.
