Emory University Undergraduate Admission
Dear Jeff,

Along with seeing the latest blockbuster and catching up on sleep, you probably know that spring and summer breaks are also great times for college visits. We invite you to visit Emory University and see what our two campuses - Emory College and Oxford College - have to offer you.

While your college search is gaining traction, do you know what you want in a school? A top-notch research university? A vibrant and diverse student body? Challenging classes surrounded by your intellectual peers? A location that offers both career opportunities and entertainment? If you want all of those things, then Emory just might be the right fit for you.

Additionally, our staff is hitting the road this spring and may be coming to your area. Engage with Emory events are hosted locally and are a great way to learn about our application process, academic programs, and student life. You’ll meet an admissions representative and have ample time to ask questions, too.

Best wishes,

EMORY UNIVERSITY

what is this mean?

I’m getting dozens of emails and lots of mail from colleges inviting me to visit, telling me about the school, etc.

I’m pretty sure it all comes from PSAT scores, and I don’t think it means anything.

It’s nothing more than an advertisement basically. They want to be on your radar so that you’ll consider applying.
If you have already taken standardized tests then it may be that you’re in a certain range and therefore they are marketing to you for that reason.

Nothing. They send those messages out to thousands of people. It’s your typical college email asking for you to visit their campus or come for a meeting where they inform you about the school.

D got email from them today too. This is a regular marketing email.

Echoing others: it’s marketing. You’ll get 100s if not 1000s of these adverts. None mean anything about your likelihood of being admitted. Every year, you get some awestruck kid who posts “Why did MIT send me this letter? What does it mean?”

Now, if at some point, you get a letter/email that says Emory would like to fly you out there to meet with them – then that would be another story! But those are rare.
