So, I live in GA and I'm a pretty tough college candidate(If I do say so myself). I have the HOPE scholarship for Emory(Kinda) and Tech, but those schools aren't strong in the field I want to study.

Prepare yourselves:

I would like to double major in History and Biomedical Engineering. Yes, fire meets ice. Though these majors are light-years apart, I'm deeply interested in both and would gladly work twice as hard to graduate in 4 years. The only school that carries both of these subjects in high regard is Duke(my dream school). The only problem is tuition. Emory has an amazing History program but doesn't have a BME major. Tech has BME alright, but its History program(if you can call it that) is about the impact of technology or some nonsense.

What do you suggest if tuition is a big pain in the behind? :)

If tuition is a potential pain then I’ll assume that you won’t qualify for much, if any, need-based aid. Tuition at Emory is $40,000 a year, and HOPE will cover $4,000 of it. Duke would only be roughly $4,000 more per year than Emory. HOPE will cover all of your tuition at Tech, where you’d have access to a world-class BME program. If it winds up being the decision-maker, that’s going to be one heck of an expensive History major!
