I'm currently in the process of deciding between two great schools for Biomedical Engineering. I've been accepted into both Georgia Tech and Duke University for BME (which are #3 and #2 respectively for BME) but have been awarded the President's Scholarship for GT and no scholarship for Duke. With the Hope Scholarship as well as PS, I would only have to pay $24,000 for 4 years at Tech but would have to pay $200,000 plus at Duke. I was wondering if Duke is really worth that extra $176,000 or not. If you could help me out that would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I was also accepted into Yale, but I heard the BME program wasn't that great so I'm really not considering it.

I guess I should also include that I’m looking at going to either medical school or graduate school. Not really sure yet whether I should research or practice yet.

Considering that GTs engineering school is the best in the Southeast, I would pick Tech. The students on campus are welcoming and the faculty seem like they genuinely care about their students.

Do you really want to be in that much debt after leaving undergraduate? Its not worth accruing so much debt to get an undergrad degree from Pratt.

My vote goes to Georgia Tech. As others have mentioned, $200,000 of undergraduate debt is not advisable if it can be avoided (particularly when substantial additional debt will be incurred in medical school). My second-place vote would actually go to Yale, due to its terrific all-round undergraduate education (although I do not think it is $200,000 better than Ga. Tech - certainly not for an engineering program, if you mind is set on this track).
