Emory vs. Tufts

Just got in off of Tufts' waitlist and now have a decision to make. Opinions? And Why?

what's your major? if it is IR, def Tufts

I am from NY also and thought highly of both schools. I just felt that Emory had a bit more to offer for my interests. The facilities and resources at Emory are awesome. The constant building and upgrading via the Master Plan will prepare Emory well for the future. I guess a $4 billion endowment tend to help the many initiatives.
Emory has a great overall reputation and in my opinion was fairly diverse with many northeasterners.

I am much more familiar with Boston than Atlanta but believe I will be quite happy in suburban Druid Hills. Boston is a great college town and perhaps Tufts gets overshadowed a bit by the likes of MIT and Harvard.

In the end, you can't go wrong since both are great schools.

My son had to choose between Emory and Tufts. I frankly expected him to opt for Tufts with the lure of Boston. Instead, he came back from his visit to Tufts and announced he was going to Emory.

He is interested in area studies--specifically the Middle-east. Although Tufts is strong in IR, the programs in Jewish studies, Arabic, etc. looked better at Emory.

Well, I'm currently undecided, but thinking seriously about business. That made Emory the obvious choice, but I think I just liked the general feel of Emory better. So unless my other waitlists come through, which I am almost hoping they don't at this point, I'll be in Atlanta in the fall.
