Found this today and thought it was interesting and hopefully relieves some of the housing crunch they may be experiencing

So rising Oxford students will now move in to a converted Howard Johnson’s?
Re-read the article. It says rising Emory sophomores and will be an option for Oxford students coming over. It’s going to add another housing choice.
@damon30 yes, rising Oxford juniors and Emory sophomores.
I will say it’s about time and I’m happy for Emory. President Sterk seems to be making very good decisions since her arrival.
I think it’s very cool and the suites are a great option. I wouldn’t get too caught up in the fact that it used to be a HoJo’s. A lot of universities end up doing things like this. The rooms will all be brand new.
I agree, really interesting housing option.
This year’s freshmen class is huge and many are afraid they will not get housing on the main campus, so this is better than the alternative. Juniors might be better off (cost wise) getting off campus apartments. I don’t know a downside to this as an option.
@damon30 This actually gives preference to Oxford continuing juniors over Emory College juniors. Emory juniors can either take Clairmont campus housing, live in fraternities, or move off campus. Clifton Towers is not an option for them. With the cost of housing on campus of $9,000 an up for upperclassmen, there isn’t much difference in taking a nice two bedroom off campus, where there are more amenities, etc. In any case, I see this as a positive for Oxford kids as well as current Emory freshmen in the Class of 2022, which is such a huge class, and housing for them on campus is a big problem.
@ljberkow
I atleast hope they look better than Clairmont towers.
@emorynavy did you live there or are you there now? Are the apartments or rooms really that bad? The inconvenience seems bad.
