I am a business major right now, and I am considering applying for an MBA program in the future. I have done research on applying for MBA programs, and many of my sources say that leadership roles are an important thing to have. I was wondering if business schools look more at the leadership roles a person would have in their undergrad, or the ones they would have in their career, or if they focus on both?
I think undergrad EC leadership roles could help. Who has much opportunity in their first couple years of work? Sometimes they present themselves (and you can look for opportunities outside of work). But college EC leadership can help.
Your career leadership is definitely more important, but they will also look at leadership roles you had in college, particularly if you have fewer years (like 3 or less) of work experience.
