im trying to get an easier schedule for my first year at fsu to not be stressed, bc the change will be stress enough. So my question is ENC 2135 at FSU a hard class? what do you do in it? etc. I see its a discussion class, so you can’t just chill in the lecture and do your own thing. Any thoughts?
ENC 2135 is an absurdly easy class. It is taught a little differently depending on who you have, but you’ll most likely have a graduate student teaching you, and with such small class sizes (maybe 20-25) they’ll likely be friendly and easily accessible.
As far as content, it’s some BS about genres. You write three papers/assignments. In my class, it was a personal paper, a research paper, and then the third is a combo of using different genres (like satire or an extension of research or something more creative like a video). Extremely easy and you get to choose your topic. Day to day class stuff was mostly discussion about our readings, which was really just an extension of online discussion boards you have to do (but again, not hard).
Attendance is mandatory though. You only get so many absences before it starts counting off your grade, but thankfully it’s one of the few college courses I’ve encountered that do so. (The other being Spanish, fyi).
Thanks for the reply. Was participating in the discussions part of the grade for you? and also were there like any presentations or anything like that.
