Hello, I was accepted to UCI for CHP and Regents (as international) this past Friday. I'm homeschooling Senior year though because of some family problems that came up unexpectedly (wrote it in my essay). I'm estimating that I don't have enough time to finish all the APs that I'm doing by myself in order to take the exams. But I'm sure I'm going to finish them by the end of June.
Do you guys think that I might get my acceptance denied if that's the case? Or how bad will it look?

Nope.

After i got into CHP with chancellors scholarship and actually CHOSE uci, I canceled 5/7 AP's I was taking that semester. I only took the ones that gave me class credit, not elective credit. I didn't need elective credit because CHP already gets priority registration. Plus, I saved $350 that way.

Cancel all the AP's you want, it doesn't matter.

It won't look bad at all. School will never know whether you took the exams or didn't. You don't have to report the scores of the exams. Schools use the scores for placement or credit. Having it on your transcript shows the schools that you took such and such a rigorous set of courses. So the actual taking of the courses means one thing and the scores on the tests means something else.

ShoeFactory, which APs did you take that gave you class credit?

I'm taking 5 AP's now and in my application there are 6 planned AP exams. I might end up taking only two because of all that's going on around here. Well, I'm relieved that it won't hurt my acceptance.

2007-08 UCI Catalogue: Preadmission Matters

Open the pdf at the top.

I took calc bc and econ. Whats your major? If you are a bio major you should take ap bio and get a 5 to get out of bio 93,94. Chem isn't needed because honors students that want to take chemistry take chem h2a,b,c.

Everything else is on that chart.

Alright, I see... Since my major is computer science, I should take APCS A, but now it's too late... I'm going to take AP Macroecon, English Language and Comp, and Calc AB and hope I get at least 4's on these... =

shoefactory, on the catalogue, where does it say that a 5 gets u out of bio 93-94? am i looking in the wrong place, b/c i only see elective credit

also, so it's ok to write planned AP tests, but then not take some later?
would it also be ok to not write planned tests, but then take some later?

It doesn't say but I know they have been doing this for 3 years past.

Yes, yes.

Why would you not write a planned test if you might take it.
