End of the year gifts to teachers - Juniors?

End of the year gifts to teachers - Juniors?

What is the general procedure? Do the kids give the gifts or the parents? Is it generally the norm to give or is it an exception.

If yes, how do you do it as such - meet them and give them or fix an apptmt or how?

Does it feel odd to be doing it when others dont or is it fine not to do it?

Confused..

Anyone? thank you!

I gave my AP history teacher one since

  1. She was retiring this year
  2. I had her for 2 years
It was not awkward for me in the slightest. In fact, many other students also gave her gifts.
Also, I gave it to her after my final like several others.

First semester on the last few final days I gave my AP Chem and AP Calc BC teachers gifts. I went before the final to give the gifts to them. It wasn’t awkward at all. Some students gave gifts before we took the final during the final class period. You shouldn’t just do it because “everyone else” is doing so, but give the gifts to the teachers you genuinely liked.

cards w/food

I don’t think kids normally give gifts to teachers at the end of junior year. At least not at my school :P

But if you were going to, maybe a nice card? With chocolate or something?

Their gift was having me as a student.

Nah haha. I don’t usually give gifts because it’s not something commonly done at my school.

I give it to teachers that have made an impact on my life, that really “get” me, that really want a gift (some teachers that I loved clearly don’t want one, etc.). I don’t just give chocolates, for certain instructors, I gave books (as they loved reading), etc. I also gave cards as I saw fit. First semester for the Winter Season everyone got a gift. Second semester I was more conservative about gift giving, tbh. Either way, things were good!
